Episode 3
I’ve been listening to a podcast called the manifested with Kathleen Cameron lately. She talks a lot about growing a business with manifestation which is great for me since I’m just starting my business. One thing she speaks on regularly is how she truly embodies the practices. I remember when I first started working with energy again especially learning a little about the Eden method with Donna Eden’s practices I was feeling so good and feeling so optimistic about what was to come. Now I know I’ve been doing a lot of healing since then and really trying to gain as much knowledge as I can but I’ve been wondering why I haven’t been feeling those feelings like really good feelings as much. I had a friend then who told me she could actually feel the change in my energy when she was around me since I’d started the practices. But that’s it right there. I was doing all the practices, really embodying what I was learning. I think as many of us do, I just let some of the practices fall to the wayside as I was feeling so good without thinking that the reason I was feeling so good is because I was doing the practices! It’s like when I used to work as a medical assistant and people would tell me they were going to stop their medication because they felt better so they didn’t need it anymore and I would tell them no, you feel better because your medication is working! It’s also the same as when I would stop taking certain vitamins or supplements and after a while I would wonder why I wasn’t feeling as good. Or especially lately I haven’t been eating as clean of a diet as I normally do and I am definitely feeling the difference. Something Donna Eden teaches that really helped me a lot is quick and easy energy practices to calm your nervous system-the fight, flight or freeze-what she refers to as the triple warmer. She has a lot of free videos on YouTube that teach these simple practices. I used to have an alarm set every hour on the hour on my phone to take 30 seconds to a minute and quickly do an energy practice for calming my triple warmer. I truly believe this made a huge difference in my energy and only add up to maybe 10 minutes out of your whole day. I remember telling people doing her daily energy routine and these little practices were actually life changing. There were times of course that I wasn’t able to do anything when my alarm went off like if I was in the middle of a haircut. I remember after doing this for about a month, I was cutting a mans hair and my alarm went off in the middle of the haircut. I literally felt my whole body relax like a wave went through me. It was so wild and I told him what I had been doing, and what had just happened. It was like I had trained my body to relax to the sound of that alarm! (Which was a relaxing sound and not the ALARM sound haha) I don’t think I’m going to start using my alarm again but I am definitely going to make it a habit to start doing these little practices again throughout my day.
Back to the podcast. Another thing she talks about a lot is when you’re manifesting something, the feeling of already having it is the most important part. This is the same thing all the manifestation coaches talk about but in my opinion is one of the hardest aspects of it. How am I supposed to know what something feels like when I’ve never had it before right? She says a lot in her podcast “who do I need to be” like who would I be, how would I think if I had already achieved my goals and desires. I had been getting the message a lot from different places that I needed to go within and I think this is one of the things that was guiding me towards. I can meditate or sit in stillness, go within my mind and just imagine or visualize who I am being when I have all of the things. Neville Goddard calls it “living in the end” or something similar to that. You live in the wish fulfilled. It seems the hardest part for me is the interim. Patience has not been a strong suit of mine. Actually that’s not true-patience with myself has not been a strong suit of mine. I have plenty of patience for others but when it comes to me and my life I expect everything to be happening and done immediately LOL. This is what it means to live in the wish fulfilled though. Know that it already is done and there’s just a little lag time for reality to catch up so stay excited for it! Your thoughts and beliefs create your reality so your external circumstances are manifestations of past thoughts and beliefs. It just takes a little bit of time for the new reality to set in. That’s why you ignore your current circumstances as best you can and focus all your thoughts, beliefs, and faith on the new reality. If you focus on the current circumstance, you will keep manifesting the same circumstances. The hardest part for me is to ignore the circumstances that I’ve previously manifested while waiting for the new reality to set in. But what if I just believe that it’s easy for me? This is another thing I’ve picked up from Kathleen Cameron. She often says she would think something negative and then immediately change the belief by just asking the opposite question. But what if it’s all coming together perfectly right? Instead of all of the but what if it’s not working or what if I’m doing it wrong, flip the script-but what if I’m doing everything right? We tend to put so much faith into our fears of things not working out and doing the wrong things. Why don’t we put that faith into the belief that things are working out exactly perfectly instead? And that we’re doing everything right? We haven’t been taught to think that way but why not? Take your power back and create your dream life. As I’m writing this out it seems so simple and sort of like what every manifestation coach says but for some reason when I listen to Kathleen Cameron’s podcast it just really sinks in. I guess I resonate with her message. It’s interesting isn’t it? There can be 27 different people telling you the same exact thing and you might only be able to hear it from 1 person. I guess that’s what they mean when they say it doesn’t matter how many people are sharing the same message, nobody does it exactly the way you do and there’s someone who needs to hear it the exact way you can share it. It is something that takes some practice for sure since we’re pretty set in our ways of thinking the way we do. Don’t give up, it’s worth doing. Something I recently decided to try that’s kind of fun and seems to be helping me is to visualize a golden light streaming down from above into my brain. It lights up my brain and I imagine removing the old belief or program that I’ve identified and replacing it with the new belief or program that I now choose to believe. Then as simple as that, I imagine it’s done. Anytime the old thought comes up I just say to myself, nope we removed that program and this is our belief now. This happens less and less as the new beliefs integrate and the new reality sets in.
Another important aspect that I’ve learned is to observe your thoughts and beliefs with curiosity and not judgement. Also, assume everyone or everything that triggers a strong reaction in you is just holding up a mirror for you to see what it is in you that you could be working on but maybe can’t see. It’s difficult sometimes to know what’s buried in our subconscious mind. It’s probably been buried there for a long time. Doing shadow work is really, really hard and emotionally exhausting sometimes but very necessary if you intend to truly heal. We need to integrate all aspects of ourselves, love and honor them. The book “The Untethered Soul” by Michael Singer was really helpful for me to start thinking about observing what I’m thinking about. It’s a concept I’d never really thought about before I read that book. I have thoughts, feeling and beliefs running through my mind literally all day long. It never stops talking to itself! I’d never thought about just sitting back and observing what I’m thinking about. Really interesting stuff lol. I haven’t read his next book “Living Untethered” yet but it’s on my list of books to read.
With so much love,
Katie
